According to today's Daily Mirror, Chelsea are lining up Bolton striker Nicolas Anelka to replace Didier Drogba who is wanted by Spanish giants Real Madrid.Drogba is set to be the subject of a £29.5 million bid from Madrid come the opening of the January transfer window after the player confirmed that he would represent Ivory Coast in next summers Olympics.
This news has led Chelsea boss Avram Grant to start searching for a new striker and it is believed he is interested in making a bid for Bolton's Nicolas Anelka. The former Real Madrid man has been linked with a move away from the Reebok for several months now due to the Wanderers poor start to the season.
It would be a real shame to see Drogba leave the Premier League. I personally think that Drogba hasn't been the same player since former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho left the club and I feel he may decide to leave the Londoners. I do think that Anelka would be a brilliant signing for Chelsea although he does have his sulky moments that may annoy some Chelsea fans.
