Man City are set to make an approach for Bolton striker Nicolas Anelka in the January transfer window according to reports in The Mirror today. Anelka has been linked with a move to either Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge but it now appears that Sven Goran Eriksson may be able to lure the player back to the club his former.City have been faced with a slight striker problem this year, the evidence is there in having to play the likes of Samaras and Vassell in several games. So it does seem as though City could do with the Frenchman's services.
If Anelka is to leave it is thought that his destination club will have to splash out up to £15 million on the French international.
