According to reports in today's Daily Mail, Manchester City defender Micah Richards is set to sign a new deal at the club ending any speculation of a move to any of the big four.Richards has been an absolute revelation since breaking onto the scene two years ago with City and Citizens boss Sven Goran Eriksson has been desperate to tie the 19-year old down to a long term deal.
Richards has also impressed immensely whilst playing for the England national team and many felt his performances were the only good thing to come out of the Euro 2008 qualifying campaign.
As a City fan myself I have to say I'm over the moon. Micah is an essential part of the City team and without him we wouldn't be the same side. His partnership with Richard Dunne in the centre of the City defence has been terrific and long may it continue.
