A new arena has been proposed for a possible NBA/NHL team to be built behind the Paris and Bally's Casinos near Harmon Ave. and Las Vegas Boulevard (The Strip). I'm a hockey guy, but personally, I think the NBA is a much better fit for Las Vegas than the NHL (can you say Las Vegas Kings?). So this is the floorplan for what I think the new arena should look like. It turned out roughly circular, with large balconies along the sidelines like the Calgary Saddledome, which is a really nice and unique arena. There would be 19,400 seats for basketball, 20,600 seats for boxing and 18,400 seats for hockey. The lower bowl (red) would seat 6,800 to 7,800 depending on hockey or basketball configuration. The club level (grey) would seat 2,700, and the balconies would seat 6,700. This arena would have 110 suites and four party boxes as well, with a total capacity of 2,000. I think a pro arena in Vegas would have to be loaded with suites, think comps for high rollers from casinos!
