West Ham are set to make an approach for Newcastle defender Stephen Carr in the January transfer window according to reports in the News of the world yesterday.Carr, 31, has made 73 appearances for the Toon Army since joining in 2004. However this season he has struggled a bit to get his place, even when fit, with solid performances from Habib Beye in the same position.
It is thought that West Ham are going to make an approach for the supposedly unhappy right back and that The Hammers are going to have to make an offer somewhere between £1 million and £2 million for the former Republic of Ireland international.
