According to reports on BBC, Newcastle United have taken a lead in the race to sign Middlebrough defender Jonathan Woodgate.The player is currently holding talks with the club he spent to seasons at a couple of years ago after holding talks with Spurs on Wednesday.
Woodgate has apparently been told he can leave Boro after falling out of favour with Boro boss Gareth Southgate. It is believed that Boro have accepted two £7 million bids for the player from both clubs.
I personally feel he will pick Newcastle in the end, simply because he is already living up their. I think he will turn out to be a very good signing for Kevin Keegan, that's if he can keep injury-free.
