This might look familiar. I had some readers comment that they would like me to design a revamped Maple Leaf Gardens, much like the Olympia Stadium and Boston Garden. So finally, here it is. I made a few changes however. The old MLG had a few weaknesses, such as no club seats, no side balcony, and no suites other than the ones near the rafters. In this incarnation, I have 28 club suites and 2,000 mid level club seats. There are also 50 other suites for a total of 78. I have also added 5 rows to the end balconies and a few more rows to the sides. The total capacity of the new Gardens is about 17,000.
So why is this the "Ontario Gardens"? Hamilton, ON may be in the market for a new arena in the future if they get an NHL team. Why not build this in Hamilton? You might think its a crazy idea, but the fans in Canada might love it.
