According to various papers yesterday, Everton are ready to use the money they got from James McFadden's sale to Birmingham on Barcelona striker Santiago Ezquerro.The Spanish international has one Spain cap to his name but has found it very hard to nail down a first team place with Frank Rijkaard's Barcelona.
Ezquerro has been linked with several moves to England in the past with Bolton among the interested parties and Everton boss David Moyes is ready to bring him to the Premier League by using the James McFadden money on the 31-year old.
I have only seen Ezquerro the odd time for Barca and I must say I'm not surprised he can't get a place in the first team largely down to the calibre of strikers at the Camp Nou. Having said that Ezquerro is still a decent player and I feel would be an OK signing for the Toffees.
