So this is another prototype for a new Tampa Bay stadium. I always wanted to sketch up a circular baseball stadium, and here it is. I know circular baseball stadiums are unfashionable now, but some of the Japanese stadiums are circular, and are really interesting looking. That was kind of the model I worked from here. This stadium would have about 40,300 seats total. The main bowl would have 20 rows and surround the entire field, with 15,500 seats. The upper bowl would have 25 rows and go just beyond each foul pole on each side, seating 18,600. There would also be 5,100 field level seats, shown in dark blue. There would also be 78 suites on the roof above the upper bowl.
Dimensions would be 325 feet to the foul poles, 408 feet to dead center, and 390 to left and right center. This stadium won't be built because all newly built stadiums today must be asymetrical and quirky and extravagent and expensive. However, circular ballparks have been popular in the past, such as Oakland Coliseum (pre renovation) and Busch Stadium (post renovation) but I think this circular ballpark might be really cool and something different.
