Liverpool striker Peter Crouch is wanted by Newcastle United according to today's Daily Star. The player who has long been linked with a move away from Anfield has apparently been told he can leave the club in January if Liverpool's valuation of £10 million is met.Manchester City, Portsmouth and Newcastle are said to be among the front runners to sign the player and Magpies boss Big Sam is in real need of a striker, with Obafemi Martins threatening to quit, Michael Owen injured and Mark Viduka under preforming.
I feel the time is right for Crouch to leave Liverpool. He has been given several chances in the first team and in my view he has done well but for some reason or another Benitez isn't picking him. It would be an interesting prospect for Crouch to join Newcastle and I for one think he would do well.
