Barcelona are set to offer midfielder Andres Iniesta a new contract at the Camp Nou to fend off interest from Premier League side Chelsea.Iniesta has had a dramatic rise into the first team at Barca over the past three seasons and Barca fear that Chelsea could be set to make a bid for the player.
Chelsea assistant manager Henk Ten Cate used to work with Iniesta at Barca and was said to be a good friend of the 23-year old's and Barca fear Chelsea may use that relationship to tempt Iniesta away from the club.
Barca president, Juan Laporta is set to offer the attacking midfielder a lucrative six-year deal at the club to end any possible speculation about the Spaniard's future.
